Aftermath project leader, Rebekah Clements, will give a talk at the seminar, Espace Maritime et Terrestre du Kyūshū: circulation des hommes et des savoirs, at the Université Paris Diderot on 17th January 2020. The talk, entitled “Post-Imjin relations between Chosŏn captives and the Satsuma domain, from the perspective of sankinkōtai”, will examine the regular visits made by the Satsuma daimyo to Naeshirogawa, a village of Korean potters displaced to the domain of Satsuma during the Imjin War.
